Tuberculosis Outbreak Prevention Feasibility Project

 

The purpose of this project is to develop a process for intervening with small TB clusters that have a high likelihood of becoming outbreaks, thereby preventing outbreaks from occurring, and determine the feasibility of implementing a national program based on this project.

Who is eligible to apply/benefit from this assistance?
Applicant Eligibility
1. Eligible Applicants: State governments of Texas and California 2. Special Eligibility Requirements: This project is dependent on the applicant actually having a at least one TB genotype cluster of 3 cases that meet the criteria for being at high risk of becoming an outbreak during the time frame of the project. Therefore, applicants must have had at least one cluster meeting these criteria per year during 2010-2012. CDC analysis of national data has identified two states that meet these eligibility criteria: California and Texas.
