Tuberculosis Health Action Learning Initiative (THALI)

Full applications are not being accepted at this time.** USAID/India seeks to improve the lives of people who live at the base of the economic pyramid (BOP) in India by supporting innovations at the interface of tuberculosis (TB) detection and treatment in urban communities. The TB Health Action Learning Initiative (THALI) project will work with the Revised National TB Control Program (RNTCP), municipal governments, and private providers to improve TB control in up to three or more major cities. The successful Applicant(s) will be expected to help identify, apply, and scale up successful innovative approaches to addressing TB, especially among under- or inadequately-served urban slum dwellers and other low- income populations. Key elements of THALI are the: 1. Identifying and scaling up of innovative approaches to improve the quality of private sector diagnosis, referral, and treatment of TB, through adherence to the recently released “Standards for TB Care in India”. 2. Strengthening the utilization of TB resources of the respective municipalities. 3. Testing of upcoming technological innovations. 4. Improving data for evidence-based decision making.
