Saginaw Bay Cooperative Weed Management Area

This is a cooperative effort between the Saginaw Soil Conservation District and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to create a Cooperative Weed Management Area for the Saginaw Bay Watershed of Lake Huron. In developing this partnership, the county surrounding the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge will be mapped with GPS data and education of landowners and treatment of infestations will begin through the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program. The CWMA will be developed and will expand the mapping, education and treatment to other priority areas to be determined by the stakeholders. The Saginaw SCD already has working relationships with most private landowners and partners who would be involved in this project.
