Research on Golden Eagle Ecology in the U.S. Deserts (Mojave, Great Basin, Sonoran)

The Service and California and Nevada State wildlife agencies have established a golden eagle working group. In addition, the Service has recently established a Western Golden Eagle Conservation Team (“Team,” representing Service Regions 1, 2, 6, and 8) to promote golden eagle conservation. This 9-person team will function through FY 2015 and is projected to have $1.2 million for project. The Service believes many of these projects will be focused on developing mitigation options that are scientifically supportable.
