PPHF 2012: Health Care Surveillance/Health Statistics-Surveillance Program Announcement: Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (Pacific Jurisdictions) Financed in Part by 2012 Prevention and Public Health Funds

 

The purpose of the program is to provide assistance to State and Territorial Health Departments to maintain and expand 1) specific health surveillance using telephone and multi-mode survey methodology for the behaviors of the general population that contribute to the occurrence of prevention of chronic diseases, injuries, and other public health threats, and 2) the collection, analysis, and dissemination of BRFSS data to State Categorical Programs for their use in assessing trends, directing program planning, evaluating program priorities, developing policy, and targeting relevant population groups.
