Population genetics and site occupancy of streamside and aquatic salamanders of the Gulf Coastal Plain

 

The objectives of this project are to: â₏¢ To provide information on the status and trends of salamanders in the Gulf Coastal Plain. â₏¢ Determine the environmental factors determine the occupancy probability of Desomgnathus salamanders. â₏¢ To develop microsatellite markers for the Gulf Coast Waterdog (Necturus beyeri). â₏¢ Determine levels of genetic diversity and connectivity among populations of waterdogs.
