OVC FY13 Bridging the Gap in Victim-Related Research to Practice

 

One cooperative agreement of $750,000 will be awarded to conduct a comprehensive assessment of victim service providers to ascertain their level of awareness and knowledge about the benefits of social science research and program evaluation for their work with victims of crime; paired with an assessment of researchers' interest in, and capacity for, translating their work for a practitioner audience. The results of this project will inform future plans to support improved communication and collaboration between researchers and practitioners. Applicant Eligibility
Applicants are limited to private nonprofit organizations (including tribal nonprofit organizations), faith-based and community-based organizations, colleges and universities (including tribal institutions of higher education), public agencies, tribal governments, and tribal organizations. Applicants must have an established, documented track record of supporting research related to crime victimization, and research to practice analysis and implementation, as well as the staff resources and capability to design, administer, analyze, and interpret a national-scope assessment. A private nonprofit organization does not have to have 501(c)(3) status to apply for grant funding under this solicitation. OVC encourages partnerships between researchers and victim service professionals to ensure that the proposed approach captures the full range of perspectives in the victim services field.
