OVC FY 15 Victim Services Language Access Fellowship Program

 

OVC will make one award of up to $150,000 to an individual (organizations are not eligible to apply) with the desire, knowledge, and ability to successfully execute the development of a strategic initiative to ensure that all OVC-sponsored products, programs, and services are accessible to all victims; and who have prior experience with language access and victim services initiatives, especially for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and/or Limited English Proficiency (LEP) communities. Those applying are urged to begin in advance of the June 24, 2015, deadline.

Applicant Eligibility
Applicants must be individuals (organizations are not eligible to apply) who demonstrate the financial and administrative capacity to manage the cooperative agreement; along with the desire, knowledge, and ability to successfully execute the development of a strategic initiative to support OVCâ₏™s efforts to ensure that all OVC-sponsored products, programs, and services are accessible to all. The applicant must have prior experience with language access and victim services initiatives, especially for victims who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, and/or have Limited English Proficiency. The applicant agrees to abstain from any outside employment, either compensated or uncompensated, for the duration of the fellowship, unless approved in writing by the Director of OVC. OVC may elect to make awards for applications submitted under this solicitation in future fiscal years, dependent on the merit of the applications and on the availability of appropriations.
