National Resource Center on Nutrition and Aging

 

ACL/AoA will hold a competition for a cooperative agreement to operate a National Nutrition and Aging Resource Center (NRC). The successful awardee will provide for training, technical assistance and support to the States' Units on Aging, Area agencies on Aging and Nutrition Program providers in every State, Territory and the District of Columbia. ACL/AoA's objectives for the new cooperative agreement cycle include but are not limited to the following: 1. enhance the skills, knowledge, business acumen and sustainability of the nutrition and aging network and 2. increase the availability of information on programs and practices showing promise of successful integration of the nutrition network into the home and community based services network. ACL/AoA anticipates a three-year project period, with three one-year budget periods, subject to availability of funds.

Applicant Eligibility
Eligible applicants under this program announcement include domestic public or private non-profit entity (which includes state and local governments, Indian tribal governments and organizations (American Indian/Alaskan Native/Native American), faith-based organizations, community based organizations, hospitals, and institutions of higher education. To be considered for funding, applicants must demonstrate extensive knowledge and present a proven track record of expertise concerning the nature of nutrition for older individuals and the business of nutrition program administration within the aging network. Faith-based and community organizations that meet eligibility requirements are eligible to receive awards under this funding opportunity announcement.
