MBDA Business Center

This Federal Funding Opportunity (FFO) announces the anticipated availability of funding for the MBDA Business Center program, and solicits competitive applications for operators of MBDA Business Centers in six locations. The services provided will be implemented to generate increased financing and contract opportunities and related awards to minority business enterprises (MBEs). In addition, the services provided will assist MBEs to create and retain jobs. MBDA intends to award six (6) individual cooperative agreements pursuant to this FFO. The total award period for each of the MBDA Business Center projects is expected to be three (3) years. Specific locations and funding amounts for the MBDA Business Center projects are detailed in the table below and in Appendix A of the full text of the announcement. Funding for this program has not yet been appropriated. MBDA anticipates a total of $2,100,000 in FY 2013 funds will be available to fund the financial assistance awards for the MBDA Business Center projects identified in this FFO. The Agency also anticipates that $2,100,000 will be available in FY 2014 through FY 2015 to support continuation funding for this project. Note: The MBDA Business Center program is not a grant program to start or to expand an individual business. Applications must be submitted to operate an MBDA Business Center and to provide business consulting services to eligible minority-owned firms as set forth in this FFO. Applications that do not meet these requirements will not be considered by MBDA for funding.
