Lamprey Holding Facility Improvements and Data Base Creation

The goal of improving the lamprey holding facility as identified in the Cooperative Agreement will benefit the peoples of the Nez Perce Tribe by enhancing the health of the Pacific Lamprey adults before translocation and thus increasing their success of spawning. The migration timing, abundance and distribution lamprey data base will provide fish managers with critical information needed to effectively manage and restore Pacific Lamprey populations within Snake River basin. The goal of the Pacific Lamprey Conservation Initiative is to achieve long-term persistence of Pacific Lamprey and support traditional tribal cultural use of Pacific Lamprey throughout their historic range. This cooperative agreement will assist that goal in the Snake River basin.
