Inter-Decadal Streamflow Projection Research and Apply to Operational Decision-making

This project is an extension of research by the PIs. That intends to lead research to initiate a mechanism by which to provide credible projection methodology at inter-decadal time scales. Climate modeling groups have recognized this gap and there has been recent flurry of serious research activities on decadal climate projection by groups in US and Europe. Recently they were able to modulate the basin runoff efficiency as consequence of precipitation and temperature and modulations at the inter-decadal scales. In this research we also will develop wavelet-spectral methods to combine paleo-reconstructed flows and observations to generate skillful decadal mean stream flow projections. This intent would be to expand upon the previous efforts to develop a suite of projection tools combining observational, paleo and model data.
