Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Temporary Bridge Program

 

Provide direct federal support to States and Indian Tribes to establish rental programs for portable skidder bridges, bridge mats, or other temporary water crossing structures, to minimize stream bed disturbance on non-Federal land and Federal land (USDA). The program includes funding to States and Indian Tribes for purchase of short and medium span temporary metal and timber bridge and Roadway mats. Programs may include rental, loaner, cost-share and own to use options.

Application Procedure
2 CFR 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards applies to this program. Financial grants and cooperative agreements are approved upon completion of an application for funding request based on a needs assessment and the review by a panel that includes Forest Service, national partners, and Tribes .
Award Procedure
Funding will be provided through a grant through the Regional Office applicants reside. Final funding for each applicant will be determined by the selection panel to best ensure that the needs of all applicants can be met.

From 30 to 60 days. Requests to extend the award must be made in writing and include an updated SF-424. Requests must be sent to the Program Manager at least 60 days in advance.

How may assistance be used?
Grants may be used by to purchase temporary wood or steel bridges or mats for use over water crossings for forestry operations. States, with appropriate partners may establish a rental or loaner program and/or a cost share program. Tribes use may differ in that their forester programs are self -contained.
