Indigenous Program for Interpretation: Giving Voice to American Indians in the Profession of Interpretation NOI

 

: To assist the National Park Service in working with Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCU) to evaluate existing coursework at the Tribal Colleges to determine what can be used to package an undergraduate degree program in the field of natural and cultural interpretation and to make recommendations for new classes that would need to be added to the course offerings at the TCUs. Eventually SFASU will be asked to work with the Tribes and the NPS in the design for undergraduate interpretive courses to be offered in the skills and philosophy of Interpretation as well as the delicate balance of interpretive research, collection and evaluation of the tribal stories.
