Haiti Disaster Risk Reduction Capacity Building

 

Pursuant to the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended (FAA), the United States Government (USG), as represented by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Bureau for Democracy, Conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA), Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) is seeking to support or stimulate the activities described in this Annual Program Statement (APS). The scope of the APS is to build capacity of the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC) with (A) institutional support while complementing the current efforts of the Government of Haiti and international community, notably OFDA, USAID/Haiti, and SOUTHCOM and (B) a rapid response mechanism for helping meet urgent needs following a disaster in the department. The project will fall under OFDAÂ’s Risk Management Policy and Practice sector and both the Capacity Building/Training and Building Community Awareness/Mobilization subsectors.
