Furnishings for Women?s Dormitories at Herat University and Balkh University
 
  				The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, announces a competition open to registered Afghan non-profit, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and international non-profit organizations for an award to procure, deliver, and install complete sets of furnishings and equipment in womenÂ’s dormitories (hostels) on the campuses of Herat University and Balkh University.  The budget available for this program will include all logistical costs, materials, furnishings, personnel, and operating expenses.

Who is eligible to apply/benefit from this assistance?
					Applicant Eligibility
					Eligibility is open to registered Afghan non-profit, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and international non-profit organizations with direct experience in:  o procuring and installing of furnishings and equipment in large-scale living quarters such as hotels, hostels, dormitories, or military camps;  o working successfully in Herat and Mazar-i-Sharif;  o managing budgets and human resources;  o working in Afghanistan, especially with vendors, suppliers, and contractors;  o working with Afghan government institutions, particularly the Ministry of Higher Education and Afghan public universities.  For-profit entities are not eligible for this funding opportunity. Organizations must demonstrate a proven track record of success in implementing projects in Afghanistan. Organizations must demonstrate current country registration license (when applicable), competent programmatic ability and be able to meet reporting requirements. Organizations may partner, but only one organization can be the prime recipient of the award.
