Development of the Rolling Wheel Deflectometer

 

The FHWA seeks to continue development of the Rolling Wheel Deflectometer with Applied Research Associates (ARA) to where it can be used as a viable tool by Federal, state and local transportation agencies to accurately measure highway structural capacities for the purpose of improving pavement maintenance and increasing transportation safety. The proposed cooperative agreement is intended to provide additional research and development to make the device and technology practical and usable by highway agencies in the U.S.
