Development of Open-Source LP/ MILP Solvers for CALSIM/ CalLite

The Mid-Pacific Region of the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) intends to issue a Notice of Intent for a cooperative agreement under the Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) # 03FC810873 and Catalog of Federal Domestic Award CFDA # 15.512 to University of California, Davis for the following program: Development of open-source LP/MILP for CALSIM/CalLite. The purpose of this agreement is to provide efficient computational methods and software for solving linear programming (LP) and mixed integer linear program (MILP) for CalSim and CalLite applications. CalSim and CalLite are general –purpose water resources simulation models that enable users to quickly develop system representations and specify operational criteria. The research into CalSim/CalLite application-specific LP and MILP solvers should lead to the continued improvement of the simulation of large, complex water resource systems for management and planning studies. Refer to Notice of Intent (NOI) to award announcement, R13AS20029 for additional information. A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed financial assistance based upon Departmental Manual 505 DM 2, paragraph 2.14(B)(4) is solely within the discretion of the Government.
