COOPERATIVE ECOSYSTEM STUDIES UNIT, SOUTH FLORIDA/CARIBBEAN CESU

 

The U.S. Geological Survey¿s (USGS) Greater Everglades Priority Ecosystems Science (Fort Lauderdale, FL) and Southeast Ecological Science Center (Gainesville, FL) is offering a funding opportunity for research and technical assistance relevant to: Setting conservation targets for the Peninsular Florida Landscape Conservation Cooperative. The USGS conducts ecological and hydrological research and monitoring in support of Greater Everglades restoration efforts throughout South Florida, in conjunction with its Federal, State, and local partners. Research conducted by USGS scientists and their research partners advances the understanding of the Greater Everglades restoration and the potential influence of climate change and sea level rise on ecosystem restoration. USGS¿s research provides valuable information which contributes to decision-making during the restoration effort. The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to CESU partners with the capability to use creative methods to define and document the process of setting conservation targets for the Peninsular Florida Landscape Conservation Cooperative.
