Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, South Florida/Caribbean CESU

The US Geological Survey is offering a funding opportunity to members of the South Florida and Caribbean CESU. This opportunity is to support research to be performed for the Greater Everglades Ecosystem restoration planning and scenario evaluation. This study focuses on the incorporation of paleoecologic core analyses into hydrologic linear regression models. These analyses will utilize empirical observation-based data to construct linear regression models that relate estuarine salinities to wetland hydrology in the Greater Everglades ecosystem. These analyses will reconstruct pre-alteration hydrologic conditions, which are essential for establishing targets and performance measures for restoration of the Greater Everglades Ecosystem.
