Who is eligible to apply/benefit from this assistance?
Applicant Eligibility
An applicant must be a "covered entity." A "covered entity" means a nonprofit entity; a private- sector entity; a consortium of private- sector entities; or a consortium of nonprofit, public-, and private- sector entities with a demonstrated ability to substantially finance, construct, expand, or modernize a facility relating to fabrication, assembly, testing, advanced packaging, production, or research and development of semiconductors, materials used to manufacture semiconductors, or semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

What is the process for applying and being award this assistance?
Pre-Application Procedure
Preapplication coordination is required. Pre-application requirements include an Environmental Questionnaire that will assist the Department in determining the required level of environmental review for the proposed project(s). See the Notice of Funding Opportunity for more information.

Eligible uses include costs to finance the construction, expansion, or modernization of an eligible facility or equipment for that facility; support site development or modernization for the facility; support workforce development for the facility; and pay reasonable costs related to the operating expenses for the facility.
