BLM New Mexico Abandoned Mine Land Program

 

The purpose of the AML program is to protect public health and safety by safeguarding and/or permanently closing hazardous AML features on BLM and mixed-ownership lands in New Mexico. The program will support the States¿ effort to safeguard abandoned mine features in New Mexico. New Mexico has an estimated 15,000 features that pose a threat to public safety and the environment.
