BLM CA Modoc County Weed Management Area - Surprise Field Office

In the past Modoc County Department of Agriculture (MCDA) has assisted BLM Surprise Field Office by working with private and non-federal landowners to prevent, contain and control the spread of noxious weeds in Modoc County, Lassen County California and Washoe County Nevada. Because these plants move rapidly from one owners land to another's, cooperative efforts to eradicate, contain or control noxious weeds will reduce adverse impacts on public and private lands and reduce costs to both BLM and other adjoining land owners. The county will inventory, document, and control noxious weeds on public lands administered by the BLM Surprise Field Office. The county has the rights to enter private lands that BLM cannot.
