US Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, Natural Resource Assistants

 

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, (USACE) intends to enter into a sole source cooperative agreement with the Student Conservation Association (SCA) for assistance in the interpretation and promotion of water safety and/or historical heritage at six lakes in the Huntington District. The SCA will place Natural Resource Assistants with the USACE at the following locations. One at each at Deer Creek Lake, Paint Creek Lake, Dillon Lake, Alum Creek Lake, Delaware Lake, and Burnsville Lake. Requirements include providing interpretative assistance in the implementation of the Corps Water Safety Program and/or Corps Historic Area Program; presenting programs at schools, parks, and/or and special events; providing guided tours of Corps Dams, and assisting the Corps Rangers with patrols. This agreement is an opportunity to provide training and educational opportunities for SCA interns with interpretative, parks and recreation, historical, conservation, and/or biology backgrounds.
